NEW ONLINE PAYMENT PORTAL – PAYMENTUS

We are pleased to announce that the Galveston Housing Authority now offers a new and improved online payment portal through Paymentus, providing residents with more convenient ways to pay rent online.

Through the Paymentus online payment portal, residents can securely make rent payments using available electronic payment options. Residents may make a one-time payment or use other payment features available through the portal.

What You Will Need

To make an online payment through the Paymentus portal, you will need the last four digits of your Social Security number to access and verify your account.

TRANSACTION FEES

A service fee may apply to online payments. These fees are charged by the third-party payment processing company and are not retained by the Galveston Housing Authority.

Other Ways to Pay

In addition to making payments online, Paymentus offers a convenient Cash Payment Option.

Once you have created your Paymentus account, you can use the Cash Payment Option to make your rent payment with cash at participating retail locations, including Kroger, Family Dollar, Dollar Tree, CVS, Walgreens, and other participating stores.

Public Housing residents will continue to have the option to pay rent by check or money order, in person or by mail until November 2026.

Cash and blank money orders will not be accepted.

Rent Due Dates & Late Fees

Rent is due on the first day of each month and is considered late after the fifth day of the month.

A $15 late fee will be assessed for rent payments made after the 5th and for any remaining balance over $20.
Four late payments within a 12-month period may result in termination of your lease.
