On February 26, 2010, thirty-seven seniors of the Gulf Breeze and Holland House Senior Developments attended a Black History musical event in celebration of Black History Month.  The event, titled “We’ve Come This Far by Faith” was opened by The Reverend Geraldine Pushia.   The program was hosted by Mercie Prevost of the Heavenly Tones. The Heavenly Tones are a gospel group that gives back to the community by performing for senior facilities throughout Galveston County.  Holland House was very pleased they chose our senior living center.  A solo from Reverend Geraldine Pushia was a real crowd pleaser.  The seniors were also delighted by ROSS Coordinator Odelia Williams who provided the group with words of encouragement and a brief history lesson on gospel music.

The event is just one more example of the Galveston Housing Authority’s commitment to promoting and creating quality activities and events for the residents.  Please check our website frequently for upcoming events.
